Job Description
The Disability Support Worker is responsible for providing personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The Disability Support Worker will work closely with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care:
Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients’ health conditions.
Daily Living Support:
Help clients with meal preparation, feeding, and household tasks.
Assist clients in participating in social, recreational, and community activities.
Encourage and support clients to develop skills and achieve their personal goals.
Health and Safety:
Monitor and report any changes in clients' health and well-being.
Ensure that clients' environments are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures.
Documentation and Communication:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care and progress.
Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in care team meetings and contribute to the development and review of care plans.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of Certificate III in Individule Support, Strong communication skills, First Aid and CPR Certification, NDIS Workers Screening, National Police Clearance, Working With Children Check, Dependability and Reliability, Empathy and Compassion
